With the mentorship of the Hennepin County Library, we are at the beginning of our journey to develop a vibrant and interactive Minneapolis Police Museum which is fully open and accessible to the public.

Although we have the moral support of the Chief and his leadership team, we will receive no funding from the Minneapolis Police Department nor from the City of Minneapolis to bring forth our vision of a vibrant and interactive museum which educates the community on the contributions of the Minneapolis Police Department in the growth of the city.

We are dependent upon philanthropic partners and private donors for the funding of the Minneapolis Police Museum. We are taking a phased approach to the museum that will allow us to begin work even before we have defined our overall budget and secured all of the funding needed for long-term sustainability.

Please consider making a donation to our museum.  It will be gratefully used to support:

  • Preservationto preserve our artifacts for today and for the future.
  • A Museum Space – to obtain a building or space in a building which is open and accessible to the community.
  • Exhibits and Displays – for our museum space and for other public spaces.
  • Education and Awarenessto help us develop programming for schools, community centers, churches, hobby clubs, and care centers.
  • Equipment and Suppliesour needs range from archival quality boxes to computers and iPads to paper and pencils.
